Saturday 9/3/1976: ST. LOUIS - Great days are rare. But not for Chicago (N)'s left-hander Jesse Hudson. St. Louis found out the hard way that he is among the leagues top pitchers, getting just 2 hits. It's his 4th shutout this season, and the 7th time he has done it in his career. |

 The Cleveland Indians held a press conference today to announce that former Cubs and White Sox infielder Joey Palko has been named the team's new general manager. Palko replaces the departed Hank Jett, who went to New York to join George Steinbrenner in the new Yankee regime earlier this April. |
